1. A third party that sees someone sign a document (e.g. a third party sees a testator sign the Will). The witness must also sign the document themselves. In the case of a Will, the witness should not be a beneficiary.
2. A person who sees or hears something relevant to the matter that is or will be adjudicated by a Court.
